Artist
Sam Harvey is a practising architect with over 25 years of professional experience.
The cards in this gallery are made from recycled and found materials: discarded artwork, offcuts, unfinished sketches, old school books, maps, invoices, technical instructions, medical prescriptions and old shopping lists — the miscellaneous fragments of paper that accumulate around daily life.
On top of these, Sam applies multiple layers of acrylic pen, biro, stamped numerals, airbrush splatters, paints, inks and rubber stamps, and all manner of mark-making methods. Some cards share a family resemblance due to having been made as part of a larger group — others are entirely unique. Each card is a one-off original that cannot be repeated.
